There can be few more perfect places to play golf or have a golf break in the world than Scotland’s Golf Coast. With 21 golf courses along 30 miles of stunning coastline and a range of accommodation options to choose from, East Lothian has everything you need for a great golf trip in Scotland. Situated just 30 minutes from Edinburgh, East Lothian is one of Scotland’s most beautiful, dry and sunny locations, providing the opportunity to play golf year around. John Muir Way
One of Scotland's Great Trails, the John Muir Way offers walkers and cyclists a unique journey through Scotland’s landscapes, history and heritage.

Traversing central Scotland coast to coast in 134 miles, it links Helensburgh in the west with Dunbar in the east (birthplace of America's 'father of national parks' John Muir).

The route symbolically passes through Scotland's own first national park, Loch Lomond & The Trossachs and offers a chance to connect with nature, taking advantage of the green spaces that link our coasts, villages, towns and even the capital city.

This is a journey of contrasts, taking in woodlands, beaches and canals, as well as rivers and parks through urban areas. You'll also discover Scotland's ancient Roman history, engineering heritage and several UNESCO World Heritage sites on the way. Whether you're from Scotland or are visiting for the first time, this mixture of landscape, culture and history will give you a view of Scotland not seen from any other perspective.

Good transport links and plentiful accommodation make it easy to plan a coast to coast expedition, or split it into sections to be completed over day trips or weekends.

Seton Castle
Located approx. 300 yards from the accomodation Seton Castle can be accessed via the biodivesity area. A popular retreat for Mary Queen of Scots the castle was Robert Adam's final project in Scotland. The property is adjacent to Seton Collegiate Church which is now in the care of Historic Scotland.

Preston Grange Industrial Heritage Museum
For over 400 years Prestongrange was a focus of industry. A harbour, glass works, pottery, colliery and brickworks have all left their marks on the landscape including winding gear, a vast brick kiln and a Cornish beam engine. Cradled by woodland the site is now a haven for wildlife where you can explore these monumental relics of Scotland's industrial heritage.

Scottish Seabird Centre
Scotland is internationally renowned for shorebirds, seabirds, sea mammals, coastal mammals and coastal plants. Scotland's marine environment is exceptional and diverse. Over 18,000km of coastline, more than 900 islands, and around 61% of the UK's seas Scotland is home to more than 6,500 species of animals and plants.

National Museum of Flight
Learn about the history of aviation from the First World War to the present day and immerse yourself in interactive galleries, supersonic experiences and the historic hangars and airfield. Get on board Scotland's Concorde to discover what transatlantic flight was like for its passengers and crew and learn more about its supersonic legacy.
